by Akid48 ini don't know if anyone remembers me on here but i'm here to do an update again.. well, i'm 15 going on 16 soon i still remember watching my first video on youtube and learning that all the jw teachings are false and everything that follows.
crazy times, i have chosen to just focus on school and just trying to be a kid well a teen now but you get the point.
i'm not really mad about all the jw stuff i've come to accept that i couldn't have done anything to prevent it i was born into a family that was already into the religion.

Dutch judge rules that elders are not entitled to hide behind clergy-penitent privilege
by Anders Andersen intoday a dutch judge ruled that jw elders and the jw branch cannot invoke clergy-penitent privilege when it comes to information used in a judicial committee.. jw had filed a complaint with the courts because the branch office, two kingdom halls and a few elders' homes were raided by police almost 2 years ago in search of evidence related to child abuse issues.. jw argued that the information that was taken by police is protected by clergy-penitent privilege.
today the judge ruled that 1) an organization doesn't haven't such a privilege, 2) jw elders don't always act as spiritual counselors.
their actions as judges in judicial committees aren't protected by privilege, and 3) conversations jw have with their elders are often not confidential at all (as per jw policy) so jw elders can't rightfully invoke clergy-penitent privilege to maintain absolute confidentiality, because there isn't absolute confidentiality in the first place.. jw are thinking about appealing the verdict..

@Simon,
I'm not trying to pull any tricks on anyone.
I simply stated what my criteria are. Your criteria my be entirely different, and that's fine with me.
Because does the fact they are so determined to prevent something even being heard not tell you something?
No. As I said before: how does one distinguish between a crackpot spreading dangerous bullshit, and the lone person who is right but is opposed by those in power?
I have yet to see a useful response to that.
To me, the two may be virtually identical in appearance when it comes to actions taken by media platforms and authorities.
I would expect governments and media platforms to try and silence or not offer a platform those that spread dangerous nonsense.
And they would do the same if they were actuallly trying to cover up a conspiracy of those in power.
So if someone is kicked off of YouTube or not offered a platform otherwise, that in itself is not evidence of them being right (or wrong).
You own and moderate this forum. A few days ago we discussed this very thing: those operating a media platform are in no way obliged to offer a platform to anyone. If I were to start promoting dangerous nonsense you would ban me, right?
I'm not surprised other platforms removing content they deem dangerous (or simply disagree with).
That in itself is not evidence of a conspiracy.

Millennium Promises
by Vanderhoven7 indoes anyone have wts quotations showing that the great crowd members will only be declared righteous and receive everlasting life at the close of the millennium?.
-
Anders Andersen
Thus, in summing up, we see that from Pentecost to the present time only those of the “body of Christ” are declared righteous, and that by faith; these will gain actual righteousness in the “first resurrection.” And the rest of the obedient ones of mankind will be declared righteous to life everlasting after meeting the test at the end of the thousand-year reign of Christ.

By faith in “the blood of the Lamb,” the “other sheep” are given an approved standing before Jehovah and are thus declared righteous for friendship with him and for survival during the “great tribulation.” They will attain to perfection by the end of the Millennium. After the final test they will be declared righteous for life.

I think this comes closest. It appears this doctrine was changed around 1985?
All quotes from later dates have no ifs and buts wrt the other sheep being declared righteous.

While I'm not really invested in this particular case, it raises an interesting question.
How would we be able to tell the following apart:
- A fraudulent conspiracy theorist who spreads dangerous (possibly lethal) misinformation, and whose videos are therefore no longer hosted on YouTube, and who is denounced sincere colleagues and the authorities.
- A sincere scientist who discover important information that the authorities want to keep hidden, and is therefore set up and gagged.
Outwardly those situations might be very much alike.
Now I don't know about you guys, but here's my simple criteria:
As soon as the words 'Cabal', 'deep state', 'Illuminati', 'Freemasons' and other such generic conspiracy theorist terms are used, I default to concluding it's bullshit.
That's not because governments never pull (very!) shady shit; they do.
It's more of an Occam's Razor thing. All things alike, the more simple explanation in such situations is that one single person is off the raills. Involving shadow governments, coverups that include hundreds of thousands people keeping a secret, and shady 'evidence' for whatever claims are made is not the simplest solution.
In this particular case, what is the more simple solution: all goverments all over the world, and 99.99% of all virologists, MDs etc are in a secret conspiracy? Or this one person is wrong?

have you heard anything ?
by lancelink ini was a witness from grade school ( 1976) until 2007. i seem to remember an important aspect that was always talked about at the hall as being a fact.they would say that "the rocks themselves would cry out" if the public preaching work was to stop,,,,, all i've seen and heard these past few months are the witnesses complaining about the witnessing work coming to a halt.but i've not heard one rock crying .. .

Well that's because obviously Jehovah's people are still preaching! Their Zoom meetings, and silly handwritten letters, unsolicited phone calls, etc. etc. are all preaching!
And don't forget their divine website JWdotORG. That's the greatest witness of all. Haven't you heard 'the brothers' invented the internet?
